Lapis Lazui, Bold, Luxurious and Sophisticated

Lapis lazuli is absolutely one of my favorite stones, I just love the rich ocean blue color speckled with strings of gold.

Lapis lazuli is a deep blue semiprecious stone that has been used in jewelry and decorative objects for thousands of years. The stone is prized for its rich, vibrant color, which ranges from dark blue to violet-blue, and for the shimmering flecks of pyrite that are often found within it.  Pyrite is a mineral with the chemical formula FeS2, also known as iron pyrite or "fool's gold." It has a metallic luster and a brassy-yellow color that closely resembles gold, which is how it got its nickname.

The combination of deep blue and gold, often seen in lapis lazuli, is a classic and luxurious color scheme that has been used in art and design for centuries. The contrast of the rich, warm gold against the cool, deep blue creates a striking visual effect that is both bold and sophisticated.

Overall, lapis lazuli and the colors associated with it have a long and fascinating history, and continue to be prized for their beauty and cultural significance today.

The stone was highly valued in ancient times for its rich, deep blue color, which was considered to be symbolic of the heavens and the divine.

The ancient Egyptians were among the first to use lapis lazuli in their art and jewelry, and it was also used in the funeral mask of King Tutankhamun.

Today, lapis lazuli is still highly valued and popular gemstone, and is used brilliantly in my pieces of jewelry, such as necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. It is often combined with gold or silver to create striking contrast.
